Teeth Straightening, Moreno Valley, California
Say goodbye to your crooked, crowded, and misaligned teeth for good! Here at Gold Coast Dental Moreno Valley, our orthodontic team are experts when it comes to improving the cosmetic appearance and function of your smile with our braces and Invisalign options. The entire process is gentle and stress-free, allowing you to painlessly achieve the smile of your dreams in 12 to 18 months, depending on the severity of your case. Our orthodontic treatments can correct: crooked or overcrowded teeth, gaps between teeth, overbite and underbite, overjet, crossbite, open bite, TMJ disorder, jaw misalignment problems. Many patients can also see their overall appearance, speech, and confidence improve as well, meaning you can leave your smile hiding days behind you.
Straight teeth don’t just make your smile look better. They make it healthier, too! Orthodontic problems like crooked and crowded teeth can make it hard to brush and floss your teeth, making it much easier for cavities to form or gingivitis to develop. Jaw and teeth misalignment can also cause chronic headaches and earaches, but these issues are a thing of the past with perfectly aligned teeth. Your beautiful smile is just around the corner with braces and Invisalign! Call our dental office at (951) 488-8688 to schedule a consultation with our orthodontic team today.
Types of Braces
Straighten your teeth on your terms with one of our many orthodontic braces options
Traditional Bracket Braces
Traditional bracket braces are what we typically think of when we hear our orthodontist mention “braces.” Using metal brackets affixed to the front of your teeth and threaded with wire, these dental braces gradually tighten your teeth into the perfect alignment you want.
For patients who need the same level of orthodontic treatment as traditional braces but don’t want the obtrusive look, clear braces are an amazing option. Clear braces are not actually clear but are made of a tooth-colored ceramic instead of using metal brackets, allowing your dental braces to blend in with the rest of your smile. The wiring threaded through the ceramic is thinner as well, further hiding your braces in plain sight.
For a completely invisible braces look, why not try lingual braces? These teeth braces are just like traditional metal braces, except the brackets are attached to the inside of your mouth. Even with this different placement, you’ll be able to straighten your teeth with the same level of efficiency as metal or ceramic braces.
Invisalign: The Clear Aligner
Invisibly straighten your teeth with Invisalign, the best clear aligner solution
Do you need orthodontic treatment but don’t want to deal with the look and feel of bracket braces? Our Moreno Valley office understands. That’s why we offer Invisalign, the #1 dentist-recommended clear aligner, to straighten your teeth invisibly without losing any of the effectiveness of traditional braces. Invisalign uses a series of clear trays custom-designed to fit smoothly in your mouth and gradually align your smile exactly how you want it. By switching to the next tray every two weeks, the shifting of your teeth stays gentle and painless throughout the 12 to 18 month process. With Invisalign, your clear
aligners are completely removable and only need to be worn 22 hours a day rather than around the clock like traditional bracket braces. This means you can take them out when eating, cleaning your teeth, or going out on special occasions and still get the amazing results you deserve! If you forget to wear your aligners for a few days and your tray no longer fits easily in your mouth, don’t worry! The solution is as easy as returning to the previous tray and continuing your treatment as usual. Are you ready for a seamless transition to your new smile? Contact our Moreno Valley office at (951) 488-8688 today for an orthodontic consultation.

Foods To Avoid With Braces
Staying away from these foods will keep your orthodontic braces in great condition!
At Gold Coast Dental Moreno Valley, we want you to get the most out of your orthodontic braces without any setbacks or complications. Taking great care of your dental braces, including watching the foods that you eat, ensures that your braces never break or your brackets fall off. You should avoid these foods:
popcorn, nuts, pretzels, cookies and crackers, hard, sticky, or chewy candies, bagels, chips, bubblegum, foods hard to bite into (corn on the cob, apples, raw vegetables, etc.) If you have Invisalign, however, you don’t have to worry about your lunch or dinner ruining your aligner trays.
You can eat exactly what you want with no problems as long as you remove your clear aligners before eating. We do recommend that you rinse your aligners with water before putting them back in to keep saliva and bacteria from building up, which can lead to unwanted cavities.
What age is best for braces?
Braces can be used at any age, from children as young as 6 to adults as old as 96. However, the earlier you start your orthodontic treatment, the better. Typically the best age for orthodontic braces is between 8 and 14 years old. During this time, your permanent teeth are coming in and your mouth is still developing and malleable, making it easier to move your teeth into position and have them stay there more permanently.
Do ceramic braces take longer?
Ceramic braces are just as effective as metal braces, including the time it takes to complete your treatment. Most patients wear their ceramic braces for 12 to 18 months. For the most complex orthodontic cases, however, it can take as long as 36 months to achieve your perfect smile.
What is an orthodontic plate?
An orthodontic plate, or a teeth retainer, is a removable device that holds your teeth in a specific alignment. Although it’s typically used after braces or Invisalign treatments to retain the look of your new smile, retainers can also be used to straighten mildly crooked teeth. These active plates can gradually move one or two teeth into a desired position, and then hold them in place to ensure they stay in place for years to come.
Do clear aligners hurt?
Clear aligners are the most gentle orthodontic treatment at our office. By using a series of trays that you replace every week or two, the change in your bite is so gradual that you’ll feel little to no discomfort even just after moving to the next tray.
What happens if you don't wear Invisalign for a whole 24 hours?
One of the many advantages of Invisalign is that you don’t have to wear them 24/7 like you do with fixed braces. For full effectiveness, you only have to wear them 22 hours a day, meaning you can remove them when eating or brushing your teeth. Your progress won’t disappear if you don’t consistently wear them for that full time, but it will take a bit longer for you to achieve your dream results.
Why is my retainer tight?
If you haven’t worn your retainer in a while, you might notice that it fits a little too snugly in your mouth. After changing your smile’s alignment with braces or Invisalign, your teeth will naturally begin to move back to their original position without a retainer holding them in place. This is especially true for the first few months following your braces’ removal, when your mouth is still malleable and used to shifting.
